The jump to 4  shows 18-19. After key-card responder can offer a choice of contracts.

There are some advantages in 6 , firstly it scores higher than 6  but also if north was 4=2=4=3 there could be a useful pitch of a club on the fifth diamond. But there might not be.

Here both contracts fail on the bad spade position. Spades can be played for one loser but it is very much a double dummy play.

Either lead the queen and run it if it is not covered and then run the  8 if it is not covered. Or run the  8 on the first round!!!
